Straight answers — including the ones most brands avoid. Anything not covered here, ask us on WhatsApp.
Is a keratin treatment permanent?
No — it is temporary. It seals and smooths the cuticle with heat rather than permanently breaking the hair's internal bonds the way chemical rebonding does. It fades gradually over about 2–4 months and new growth comes in with the natural texture, so there is no harsh line. Anyone promising permanent straightening from keratin is describing a different, harsher service.
How long does it really last?
Honestly, 2–3 months for most clients in Indian conditions — near-daily washing, humidity, hard water and oiling all shorten it. The "6 months" figure assumes washing only 2–3 times a week with sulfate-free products and no chlorine or sea water. Fine hair holds it longer than coarse, very curly hair.
Does it contain formaldehyde?
Classic keratin chemistry works through an aldehyde that cross-links the hair under heat, so this is a fair question to ask of any brand — including ours. In India formaldehyde is a prohibited cosmetic ingredient under the Cosmetics Rules, 2020, so judge a product by its Safety Data Sheet and registration, not by the front label. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send the SDS for the exact product and batch. If you want a genuinely aldehyde-free route, look at our Super Active Urea Nanoplastia range.
How much chair time should I plan?
Typically 90 minutes to 3 hours depending on length and density; very long or very thick hair can run to 4. The sequence is clarifying wash, application, processing, a thorough 100% blow-dry, then sectioned flat-ironing to seal. Rushing the drying or the ironing is the most common cause of a weak result.
What iron temperature should I use?
Most systems seal at roughly 200–230°C on healthy virgin hair, dropped to about 180–200°C on fine, coloured, bleached or already-damaged hair, with slow passes on thin sections. Temperature is the biggest variable between a shiny finish and a fried one — follow the protocol that ships with the product and strand test first.
Can it be done on bleached or highlighted hair?
Sometimes, with real caution — this is the most common way keratin goes wrong. Bleached hair has already lost internal bonds and cannot take the same temperature or pass count, and over-processed hair can stretch, gum or break. A strand test is non-negotiable. If the hair is very elastic when wet or already snapping, rebuild it first and postpone the service.
Colour before or after?
Colour first, then keratin — either in the same visit or up to about two weeks before. Keratin can slightly lift or dull fresh colour, and colouring after a treatment is normally delayed about two weeks so the seal is not disturbed.
What aftercare must the client follow?
No washing, no tying, no clips and no tucking behind the ears for 72 hours. After that, sulfate-free and salt-free shampoo, light conditioning, and avoid chlorine and sea water. Heavy oiling — and the aggressive washing needed to remove it — will shorten the result, so light oil on the ends only.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
No — we advise against it. The concern is inhaled fumes during the heat-sealing step, and there is no established safe exposure level in pregnancy. This applies to "formaldehyde-free" systems too, since the alternative chemistries have no pregnancy safety data either. The responsible answer is to postpone.
Is keratin the same as smoothening or rebonding?
No, and they get confused constantly. Rebonding uses a relaxer to break and re-form disulfide bonds — chemically permanent, poker-straight, root touch-ups needed, highest damage risk. Smoothening is a milder version of that chemistry. Keratin seals and smooths instead, cutting frizz sharply while keeping movement, and it fades out. Match the service to what the client actually wants, or she will be disappointed either way.
Do you give salon and bulk rates?
Yes. Rates from 5 pieces upward are not listed on the site — they are shared on WhatsApp only. Send us the product and the quantity and you will get a rate back, usually within 10 minutes.
How fast is delivery, and do you ship across India?
All-India delivery in 3–6 days, shipped from Delhi. Delivery is ₹120 within Delhi, ₹149 for most of India, and ₹199 for the North-East, J&K, Ladakh and the islands — free on every order above ₹4,000. Cash on Delivery and prepaid (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets) are both available.
What if the product arrives damaged or wrong?
Message us within 3 days of delivery with your order number, an unboxing video and photos, and we will arrange an exchange. Please record the parcel being opened — without that video a damage or wrong-item claim cannot be processed. Products are not returnable for change of mind.
Are these genuine, and can I see the documentation?
Yes. We deal directly in these brands and can share the Safety Data Sheet, batch details and manufacturing and expiry dates for any product before you buy. Just ask on WhatsApp — for a professional buyer that is a reasonable thing to want, and we would rather you check.
What is the shelf life and how should I store it?
Ask us for the manufacturing and expiry dates of the batch in stock before a large order. Store unopened bottles upright, cool, dark and dry, away from direct sunlight and away from the styling station — Indian summer heat genuinely degrades professional actives. Once opened, use within the period stated on the pack, and discard anything that separates, thickens or changes smell.
